Meet The PATH Award Winner: Byron Herdman, DNP, APRN, CNP

Picture of Byron Herdman

Dr. Byron Herdman is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with Douglas Health in Alexandria, Minnesota. He has nearly 10 years of experience caring for patients in critical care, cardiology, medical/surgical, and home-based settings. In addition to his practice at Douglas Health, Byron is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at The College of St. Scholastica, based in Duluth, Minnesota. The unique ability to bring up-to-date, evidence-based information from the college setting to the clinic setting is very helpful in providing great patient care.

Byron states, “The care model at NeoPath is the reason I became a nurse practitioner. Having time to visit about what is important to patients is just as important as why they came into the clinic to begin with. I believe in honest, transparent, team-based health care that not only gets patients where they need to be today, but also sets them up for healthy living in the future.”

Byron received his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree specializing in Advanced Practice Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner Studies from The College of St. Scholastica. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, cooking new things, and spending time with friends and family. Byron serves as a volunteer firefighter for his local fire department and is active in his church and various community organizations.
